Hi all,

I've recently had my Cannondale Bad Boy 2 2015 stolen :cursing:, so was looking at getting a new hybrid bike.

I've been looking at the following bikes, but other recommendations are appreciated.

Usage - Mainly Bike paths, with less than average off-road.

My concerns on the above are the following,

Bad boy 2 - Most expensive and reminds me of the 2015 I lost
Quick CX 1 - Given the name, the tyres may not be best suited for on-road.o
Specialized - Mainly the square tapered bracket. Had one wear off on my during a long ride leaving me one legged for the remainder.

Thanks for all the help.

Do you have to buy from Evans? If not, have a look at the Whyte R7 range or Ridgebacks offers

Theres no restriction to Evans cycles :P. Just using that site as they sported the items I was interested in. They also have the full build delivery option as well.

The suspension feature on the Cannondale bikes takes my fancy as well.

Suspension generally just adds weight and makes road cycling more arduous, useful if riding on proper rough off road however

Well, I've narrowed it down to two bikes.

Quick CX 1 - Seems to have a better kit than the Bad Boy 2, if not the same. And seems more geared to off-road
Specialized - Seems to have the best kit, the bracket makes me shakey with a square taper. But I imagine this should not be a problem if the bike is looked after, and can be replaced easily at a reasonable cost.

I believe that I will go with the specialized as its £250 off RRP. Does anyone have any reason as to change bicycle?
With the money off, i think I'll get a gps tracker as well

The benefit of the cannondale suspension is that it can be turned on/off, so that's not a problem.
I've had bikes with turn off suspension, they're were still bouncy to some extent on the roads and slower than a bike with rigid forks

Go to Evans, test ride the bikes you are interested in (you just need photo ID and a bank card) and buy the one you like best (remembering that they price match ;) )

I wouldn't buy a specialized however a bargain, but that's brand preference. I've had three, including a crostrail with LO suspension, and found them utterly dull to ride, others love them though so go ride
