Just picked up a new second hand bike !!

Sold my subway 1 to 400 bhp and picked this up today.

Carrera tdf SE 2008

yellow /grey

6061 aluminum

sunrace r 80 shifters
£90

In very good nick , all i needed to do was add a seat to make it ride able.

Now the question is

whats better assuming they are in the same condition that or my virtuoso with 2300 shifters?7005 aluminium

The lesser bike will be the winter steed.

use the 6061 for whichever bike will do the longest milage in one go; it's a more comfortable ride and less harsh than 7005 (assuming it's heat treated (t6) 6061)…

if it's a 6061 carrera it's likely to be a merida frame, a 7005 one is more recent but not a merida.

I would use the virtuoso for winter/poor weather and the tdf edition for the better weather, however if one could take mudguards that would be the winter option.

Agree with Alecs....I have a 6061 Carrera-style hybrid and it's as comfortable as my chromoly flat bar road bike.
