Looking to use my old ish mountain bike for commuting in the bad / wet weather rather than taking the carbon bike out

So, can anyone recommend a set of tyres that will be good for the wet weather on road and also the odd canal path type surface

Marathon plus, used tyre levers and they went on OK. Pumped up to 60psi and they roll really well and quiet to.

My wheels are 26 x 2.35, would it be easy to convert to 26 x 1.9? Is it as simple as getting a smaller tube?
Yep,you may not even need to buy a new tube as they are made to fit a range of tyres and 1.9 inch may be at the lower end of its range (normally printed on the tube) however its always good to fit new tubes.
