Time for a new bike through cycle 2 work scheme and originally my 'must have' list was:
Minimum 105 groupset
Disc brakes
The new Giant Defy Disc 1 was looking favourite until I went into lbs over the weekend
The bike will only be used for commuting and as a summer bike, I already have 3 other bikes set up for all other conditions including a hybrid with rack and panniers for transporting clothes/food into work on a Monday so no need to fit guards or rack to it.
With this in mind, it was suggested to me to consider the Defy 0 - I know its got rim brakes so doesn't fit in with what I originally wanted but if its only to be used in dry weather, will it matter that much?
I then spotted a Propel Advanced 2 for a little bit on top of the cycle scheme allowance but wondered whether this was a bit ott for commuting?
What's peoples thoughts and any other suggestions? If you're wondering why they're all Giant, its because my lbs is a Giant agent
