My left ankle is a bit dodgy (after several tumbles over the years) it's nice to have the stability of a cleat, with the ease of getting off, of a flat. They can take a bit of trial and error, to get the tension right ( enough to hold you in on a steep climb / bit of exertion, but not enough to prevent a clean lift out ( when required ). They are a very nice compromise, when you're used to them.
