My 'Do it all' bike is a Shimano Microshift / thumb operated 3 x 8 geared specimen. The rear derailleur is the original and 11 (?) years old. Crank, rear cassette and chain have all been changed more than once in this time. And all pretty recently infact. And i think the derailleur is overdue. And i'd like to renew it. So:

Front crank / chainwheel is this [48 / 38 / 28]: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/35340929...zT97dYroJBywKkI+yhwrwQV4g=|tkp:Bk9SR4TulomBZw

Current / original Rear derailleur is an Shimano Altus and is marked: "RD-M280" - which if i'm not mistaken is a long cage example (Actual pic of my bike):

The rear Casette has been changed [11-32t] and is this exact type: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335732596377?var=545247780458

Gear changes - for such a basic / cheap set-up have always been exceptional. Belying the cheap components. And i'm keen to keep it as slick as i can as this bike see's a fair few miles.

The Altus RD-M280 is long not available new. And from doing some research - it looks like these would be an equivelant ?????

Anyone see any major holes in my plan on fitting either of the above ? *I'm also game for an upgrade on these base-level items - if i'd benefit in any way ?

Thanks Tech-heads ^_^
