which rims for my project?

I will shortly be building some new 700c wheels for this bike:

I will be using 105 hubs and DT swiss double butted spokes. But which rims? For my N=1 I used mavic open pros, but for this bike I want to be able to fit tyres from 28mm to 37mm diameter, and the open pros don't go that large.

Does anyone have recommendations for good quality rims for an open pro-like price (or less)?

Assuming you want strength in preference to lightweight (it looks specced as a tourer), then I recommend Mavic A719. Bombproof.

Absolutely right - b****cks to weight, long-lasting is what I'm after. I will check out the mavics, they look like a good candidate. Pity about the sticker though, spoils a nice pair of silver rims!
