I’m 46 years old, approx 12 stone, 5’11”, I did sit on the bike and it felt OK, the shop has ordered the bike in so I'll get to test it next Thursday. Thanks for the replies guys.

You are probably in between sizes, what's your inside leg. Age and weight don't really affect size.

I think the cannondales do come up a little larger. Generally better to get a bike that is a little small than too big as longer stems can be added etc, much harder to shrink

My first instinct would be you need a 56cm but I've no idea about cannondales, some manufacturers sizing can be different, iirc my old sirrus was something like an 'equivalent' 55cm but only measured 52cm
