I'm done with brands now. I wear B'twin clothing and ride Planet X bikes
Do Evans allow top ups on C2W schemes ?
Both bikes over £1k limit or is it a case of higher limit scheme via work etc.
I was kind of warned away from SRAM. Looks like a nice bike though.what's the issue?
As to what bike? I'd probably go for the more expensive one as it's got better brakes and a lighter crankset. Wheels might be a little better too. Either one though is a nice bike. Didn't fancy the version with the rival groupset? : http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cannondale/super-6-evo-rival-22-2015-road-bike-ec071003
Why assume that? I'm not a racer but will use it for much more than commuting. I am buying it through cyclescheme hence the choice of Evans. If you think it's overpriced because of its brand of really appreciate a better value suggestion! ThanksThe bloke is probably riding it to work mate! Wind your tits in.
B'twin is a brand, however, my jersey costs £3.99. Bet it does the same job as a £60 one. My bike is also a brand, you're right. Bet it does the job of that cannondale too, and faster.
Anyway, buy what you want mate! It's your money.
'Tis true, I'm stuck with Evans! Thanks for the adviceHe may only be able to use his voucher at Evans. A supersix Evo,wouldn't be my first choice of commuter, not least due to the value and having to leave it somewhere all day
That's a bit snooty and presumptuous. I wouldn't buy this bike if only commutingThe one that takes mudguards and a pannier rack for commuting![]()
Overwhelming support for the super six! Thanks.B'Twin & Planet X are still brands, albeit 'value' brands. They're still buying in, sticking their label on it and selling it on, just like most other companies. You don't know what you're talking about.
I think it's worth pointing out that Cannondale, unlike some other brands, produce their own frames using their own R&D people instead of buying in off the peg frames and putting a sticker on it like Planet X do. That's why you won't find a 'full' shimano groupset on their bikes as they have their own BB standard that Shimano don't make chainsets for. The Supersix is a race proven frame that was designed, tested, raced and made by Cannondale. That's what you pay for. How many frames do PX make?
Because of Evans' price match I can actually get it for 1100. Does that represent ok value or do you think it's still a rip off?£1300 for a half 105 spec'd bike. Jesus wept.
I thought about the CAAD12 but it costs around the same and was told carbon was lighter and more comfy to ride. Why would you choose CAAD instead? Why a Super6 and not CAAD12/10/8
Lol it was partly in jest hence theThat's a bit snooty and presumptuous. I wouldn't buy this bike if only commuting
I was kind of warned away from SRAM.
My chimney sweep told me his mate bought a supersix evo to do Lands end to John Ogroats and loved it all except for the gear changes of the SRAM. I've only met my chimney sweep twice but he seems like the honest sort.because?
No probs, and thanks for the advice re insurance and mudguards.Lol it was partly in jest hence thebut you are buying on C2W (read the terms) so you might want to consider features for commuting like mudguards if not to protect the drive train in the winter! Also don't forget good insurance given you don't own the bike for the term of the scheme and would be obliged to replace if nicked
Good to hear you are commuting, plenty of people go out and buy bikes on C2W with no intention of commuting on it. One criticism of the scheme and why there were rumours that the government may scrap it
