You need more than one type TBH. Cold weather ones, and flipping cold weather ones. 5C plus and under 5c.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I use unpadded bib tights so i can wear my shorts underneath , means i dont need multiple pairs for the week ,if its really cold i have been known to wear leg warmers underneath too

I was thinking of getting the Pearl Izumi ones but not sure if I'll be too hot in them, it says they're suitable for temperatures 0- -5. I'll be in Nottingham and plan on doing 100km + bike rides in them. Im asking for my friend.
You'll be in Nottingham but asking for a friend...so where will the tights be worn?

I like Pearl Izumi legwear (and waist not bib) so it’d be those for me, but they do sound like they could be a bit warm for a Midlands winter.

The Decathlon roubaix tights are decent for cold weather, between about zero and plus 5 or thereabouts. Any colder than that and I'm not going out.

+1 for the Decathlon ones.

Actually, mine are the cheapest winter ladies' tights they sell - reason being, am a shortarse and anything with zips on the ankles is a right royal pain, especially if I don't want to look like Nora Batty. Though after four winters, they're beginning to look a touch tatty around the seat area.

If it's cold - and out in the fens here it can get damn bloody cold when the sun goes down - then I'll layer them with a plain pair of lycra running tights underneath.
