I wonder if the collective memories can help me with something that's been annoying me for 30+ years?

Over 40yrs ago, I remember being in the back seat of my dad's car and seing a Lysander , parked outside either a cafe or petrol station/garage ( when they used to be both) , it was I think an A road and would have been either in the South West ( I think it was near Lulsgate) or the south of England, any clues, anyone...?

Just as irrelevant, ,he and his mate Hector featured in a song we learned in school back in the early sixties. The British Grenadiers I think it was.

I don't think so, even at <10 I would have recognised a Beaver (fnar , fnar), this wasn't a gate guardian it was in the grounds of the transport cafe/petrol station and I don't think any of the Wallops were built up enough to match the memory.

I used to see that Lysander near Bristol, on my way to and from caravan holidays at Sandy Bay near Exeter with my Aunt and Uncle. If I remember correctly, it was outside a cafe or petrol station, on one of the higher main roads a little way south of Bristol (no M5 motorway then). You've really brought back some memories with this question!
