Before recently chemically stripping the old seat stem out of my frame, I had been riding on what was an extremely short down tube length and am in the process of finding the "sweet spot" length for me. I have surprised myself to find I needed another 2.5 inches and my ride feels faster and much easier; just wobbly as I feel I probably need to raise the handlebar stem a little now. It feels like the front wheel is slightly off, but it isn't. I certainly feel wobbly when I take either hand off to signal.

You've shifted more weight/pressure to your hands and have also increased the cockpit length by raising your saddle 2.5 inches. You should adjust the stem/handlebar height (and saddle, fore and aft) until you find a comfotable position. Good luck.

I seem to recall someone on here advocating shouting "Yo!" as it's a similar exclamation, but sounds less confrontational.

"Yo"? Blech! I usually shout "whoah!" instinctively, combined with a blast of the airzound whichever I can manage first.
