white to green

My white selle saddle is gradually turning green. Given that I only wear black shorts if it was turning black I would understand, but why green?

Could this be a symptom of fruit based energy gel sweatage? A tendancy to algae?

A lot of cheap black dyes turn green, if they were not true black to start with. You won't notice on the shorts though.
