As others have said, there are always exceptions. The worst for close overtakes, in my experience, are BMWs. I get most abuse from chavs in sh1tty little souped up 'sports' cars. And skip lorries plain scare me.

That said, the only time I was properly hit was a soccer mum in a fairly plain family car who didnt' check before she pulled out of a minor road.

Ultimately it's the person behind the wheel, not the car. It's just that certain types of people tend to choose certain types of cars.

In my experience it's the travelling community chaps with their little pick up full of old washers, fridges etc. They really don't like cyclists and will try and run you off the road etc with their little fun games - barstewards :angry:

We have a site near me and I hate cycling anywhere near them (which to be honest I don't need to but they're always out and about grrrrrrrrr)

One stopped to let me out just yesterday.

WVM. I've only had one disgusting comment shouted about/to me, and one thing thrown at me while cycling, and both were by WVM.
