Dumb question coming up - do they just repair themselves? I mean do you have any chest support plastercast or anything?

I'm hoping they repair themselves as I've not been to the docs!! They may not be properly broken, but I'm really black and blue, it hurts when I breath and it makes me nearly cry when I prod them. I hate wasting NHS time!

I've come down with a cold so have abandoned the bike for the rest of the week. I need to be fit for the forum ride on Sunday!

Get yourself in to have them looked at,its not worth risking a sharp rib edge puncturing something.
I didnt ride in today,i was off,but did yesterday and my back lane was iced over, had to walk carefully till i got onto the main road, still patches of ice around there too though,so went very carefully.

still hors de combat with raggy shoulder and arm

and a bike that needs fixing, not overly keen on getting it home or carting it the mile to the nearest decent bike shop

I promise it's cold for the peds too

Been off the bike all week apart from the ride in Monday. Snowed under at work doing stupid hours and been using the ex bosses company car.

It payed off cycling in. The roads are now clear but have bugger all traffic on them. Got a really fast commute home this evening.

Me. 2.5 miles this morning in a sleet storm (headwind). Slushy ride home.

Rode in it was fine - the worst of the weather finished as I was eating my porridge. Yesterday was worse - bitterly cold, took about 2 hours to get my hands fully thawed and the circulation going properly.

Mate, get it checked out for your own peace of mind. My last 2 visits to A&E were merely precautionary but it ended up both times I needed a cast fitted.

Didn't cycle as I work from home, but I had to spend a day at an office in Newbury. I half thought about driving halfway and cycling 25km to get there, but the heavy rain first thing and the thought of dark cold cycle down tiny lanes on the way back didn't appeal. Since they have a shower I went for a lovely 8km run at lunch - about 7deg and sunny there.
