I believe so, yes. But these days discounts are available for the asking anyway.

CTC and also legal cover through trade union membership.

The CTC legal team won an excellent settlement for me after an incident a few years ago.

I swing both ways:
LCC and CTC

Well I am involved in the local LCC borough group and I lead rides for my CTC District Association (or whatever they called these days.)

So which is better. LCC or CTC?, Is their any key differences? or are they the same?

thanks

Broadly speaking, in London the LCC is the organisation to join if you are interested in campaigning and the CTC if you interested in social riding events, although some groups of the LCC do run comprehensive programmes of cycle rides as well. Both offer a good mag (although I prefer London Cyclist to Cycle), free third party insurance and discounts in bike shops.

So I think the key difference is the campaigning aspect in London.

I do recall an attempt many years ago to merge the two organisations which came to naught under the force of the LCC membership who seemed to feel they would all have to lose their body piercings, buy Carradice cycle bags and go for bike rides longer and faster than Critical Mass. xx(

Or, depending on one's viewpoint, all three (adding in British Cycling) resell what is probably the same insurance policy, with some freebies like magazines. :-)
