I'd riding along a main road in a village, with turning off to the left ahead. Who has priority, me, turning left into it, or the oncoming car turning right into the same turning? (with no other traffic behind me to hold them up)

I assumed me, but the driver seemed to have other idea, since he turned in right alongside me, with about a foot to spare beside me. I should have stuck a foot out and run my spd cleat down his door perhaps... Unless he was right...

Wrong he's in a car and your just a cyclist you must give way at all times;)

I was more or less told that by a policewoman once when I refused to cycle right next to parked cars so that she could come past in my lane.

Ah, that'll be the Met then?

After bearing witness to an accident between a cyclist and a bus I was told by a PC from the Walworth Rd. that, 'all cyclists are idiots' for 'trying' to ride in London traffic.

I commended him for his compassion considering the circumstances and said how much comfort the injured cyclist's family might take from such well chosen words from a trusted public servant.
He blushed then went and hid in his car.
