My 'bleeding edge' agency does!

Something went wrong with one little black box of tricks at 9.15 this morning, as a result there was no emails, no telephone system, no access to central document server (so no access to works in progress), no access to backups, no access to 90% of clients contact details.

Nothing!

The only thing that still worked was the 20 year old fax machine in the corner. ;):laugh::wacko:

Awesome day!

it's amazing that when the electrical interweb and emails go down how people in the office seem to be at a complete loss... forgetting that a few years ago they worked without it.

Well thats what the MD said today when a few said can they go home...

"But digital marketing agencies didnt exist before the internet" was my reply.

I am now on a warning! ;) :wacko::laugh:

Heh, I found a 20 year old word processor in the cupboard at work last week.

Baggy and her chums in the office next to mine have just setting it up on their colleague's desk, along with various fake printed e-mails from IT telling her that her PC failed an electrical test and has been temporarily replaced.

She's due in tomorrow morning and her boss is on standby with a camera. :tongue::biggrin:

At our work, i've been tasked with producing a component that prints out the details of all future jobs, at regular intervals, so that if a customer's computer "goes down", they can continue trading. The only printer I had available to test it on was a label printer, so I suggested that the labels all be printed out at the start of each day and stuck to the heads of whoever they were given to.

My partner completely relies on her TT sat nav device regardless whether she has driven that route before. Rather than just refer to it once you are on a road you don't recognise.

I did a double take on the thread title then realised that Wigsie, given dowtime on his hands, had painted his nails badly again. Thus incapacitating his typing ability causing him to miss the word 'on'.

Well, the main campus where I work went down yesterday, a contractor cut through the mains electric - all marked on a construction plans, but went through it with heavy plant - no electric for 6 hours.

Maybe I was making a point, relying on spell checker to check and presuming that because it was not highlighted it was ok.

Or maybe I was just too busy typing with a pencil so my nails didn't smudge.
