Yet I'm not fussed about kasza itself. I've tried to like it, but never got beyond the take it or leave it stage.

Mmmmm, which one? There are several different kinds. If you're talking about kasza gryczana (buckwheat) then yeah... I'm not so big on it either. I prefer peczak (barley).

Polish beer is much tastier than the sub 5%abv wee wee our domestic suppliers impose; proper Spanish San Miguel is completely different to the UK market variety brewed down the road by Carlsberg.

I drank 4 bottles of UK brewed beer , not craft hipster beer , last night . None were less than 5.2 and all tasted rather nice . The ESB was particularly good

That said there are damn fine polish beers as I alluded to upthread

Kasza gryczana mainly. I've tried roasted and unroasted varieties.

It's something of an acquired taste tbh. A bit like marmite.

Having said that, buckwheat flour makes a nice addition to a multi-grain bread.

Speaking of, Polish shops are great for sourcing nice / interesting bread flours. I buy light rye and oat flours in there as I can't seem to find them anywhere else.
