Who thinks this is a good idea?

I've only ridden this route once at peak, had an enormous HGV up my arse presumably coming up from Portsmouth, sounding his horn and demanding I get into the gutter so he could pass me angrily at 40 mph.

Why would anyone create a lane like this?

looks like any road around where I live with the added benefit of car exclusion

Not my idea of fun! As it is I often find the buses don't always use the bus lanes due to parked cars (which are allowed at certain times), which makes them even better for me!

On that occasion I might take the cycle path instead?

Or too much traffic in the rush hour, or he wanted to go left at the upcoming junction. Not that either is an excuse for being an arse

And sounding his horn..maybe he was just saying hello..?
Hahaha ... aye, right!
@vickster that pavement looks very appealing, is it a shared path?

It's uphill to the Rohampton turn-off so I presume its a congestion avoidance lane. Would cut through the park at Robin Hood personally

I don't know the area very well, but I did wonder if risking a deer strike in the park would be a better route.
