I was out on the Felt today, zooming about, water bottle in the middle pocket on my cycling jersey*, and was cycling back to my home town, wondering what to do next, when I went to overtake a group of guys.
They parted and I accelerated through the middle of them, and as I did so, I felt my right clipless shoe starting to come loose, but I was too far into the acceleration to back off. Anyway, I got past, and just as I did, the shoe came off, leaving me to perform a high speed wobble right in front of the group, leg flying about, and me just trying to stay on the bike and not cause a crash!
They all had to stop abruptly, and, of course, I got all the comments from them about it (they weren't serious bikers thankfully).
Anyway, once I got my chain back on and sorted myself out, I caught up with them again and apologised, before speeding off (up hill too) properly this time (well, ok, I had to reclip in half way through, but, oddly enough I didn't have the heart to let them know that!).
It was only when I got home that I realised that I had cut my foot and some of my toes.
