Back in the saddle for my commute today. A very leisurely 3.5 miles.

Still knackered though. Its amazing how quickly fitness/stamina dissipate after a just a few weeks. It took me as long to do this short distance at a leisurely pace - ending up knackered - as it would to to do a normal 9 miles at my usual pace - with just a bit of a sweat on.

I suppose the real test is how quickly I can return to that level.

I don't really care thjough, I'm just glad to be back on my ride.

:tired:

Wait till you get to my age pal, that's when the real fun begins.TIA
Well done BTW.

How's the eye healed ?

The retina has attached sucessfully and is flat to the macula, which is great. The vision has degraded a bit but there are no blind spots although there is some wavyness. But this is nearly the best you can hope for in my situation.

I still have a gas bubble in the eye, although small and only effecting the vision slightly (unless I look downward) and I still have a cataract to deal with but they wont do anything on that for the moment.

With my specs on and looking foward my focus is good, probably a meter or two shorter than previously so but not detrimental. The brain has amazing power to correct for a lot of things - I've spent a good few hours 'experimenting' for my own interest.
