Who's planted what in the Garden/Plot?

It's getting nearer to that busy time of the gardening callender. Has anyone started planting yet? Seedlings in the greenhouse propagator or on the kitchen window ledge. Early seed potatoes under cloches? I've got loads of seeds but it's too early to start planting here yet.

Garlic went into the ground in November or before ish. Nothing else ... must get thinking and clearing the bits left from the end of last year. And we are going to build yet another raised bed this year. But we can bring that into production later.

Nothing yet. Got some seed potatoes a couple of days ago. Haven't been to the plot recently, it's either been snowing, too frosty, too wet or I've been out on the bike if it's been fine.

Garlic and broad beans doing well from the autumn planting. Sweet peas in the lean-to just poking through.
I get a bit over-excited some years and plant seeds far too early and it doesn't usually pay off.

As this is the current gardening thread I'll ask here rather than start a new one.

I need to re-pot some small trees that I've grown from acorns and nuts. Would I be right in thinking I've got until around the end of February to do it before they wake up?

The reason for starting this thread is that I have aquired a second hand greenhouse and can't wait to get out in it! First job is leveling a peice of ground and flagging the perimiter to take the base. I'm off work sick at the moment and have got time on my hands. Hope that I can maintain my enthusiasm when and if I get back to work! I've got some onion sets to start off in pots this weekend.

Best bet is to get some First Earlies in large pots or bags in the greenhouse.Plant when it warms up a bit (hopefully mid- late Feb) and they will be ready mid-May just when the summer greenhouse plants are ready to go in.

TBH I have re-potted acers etc all the year round - I don't think that they are that fussed. If you do re-pot them now make sure that they are sheltered from winds until the roots get established in the pot.

My wife says you're right to plant before they get growing again.

p.s. Great acers from little acorns grow, doesn't sound quite right, Pete:biggrin:

Planted some Alliums last weekend which I had bought back in September and forgotton about. Tried digging the garden this afternoon but it is still to wet and just sticks to my shovel. I am on leave from the end of next week so I will get the greenhouse rebuilt and start to get that going again.

Yesterday I put a plastic sheet down in the living room and started sowing some seeds into trays. So far have done leaks, coriander, peppers and chillies.

May sow some lettuce seeds later on.

Got 70 asparagus plants in green house to go in, and last winters cuttings from goose berry blackcurrant and rasp. To early yet though.
