Millar still remains the only British rider to have won a major Tour Classification. He also won KOM in the Giro and finished 2nd the highest placing for a British rider. The Vuelta was within his grasp but was not to be.
Read the context. Millar was a fantastic bike rider, but the Tour wasn't his best race and he never really realised his potential there. His performances in the Vuelta and Giro were awesome.
The point was about great Tour riders; I think Millar did better elsewhere. I think Cavendish's phenomenal sprint and dedicated team give him the edge in the context of the TdF.
