Och, I see this all the time.
To be honest, I wish I had the bike skills to text while riding, as it is I can't even see my phone screen without reading glasses.
Mind, I would love to have the skill, not saying I would actually do it in traffic.

Even at the time I commute I see some poor cycling behaviour which doesn't do cyclists any favour.
Don't condone at all what the cyclist was doing, or the RLJ, but how many times do we see this from motorists? There have been a couple of times in the last week where I have braked for a red light and released a silent prayer that chummy behind me in the >tonne of metal will do the same.

It's normally multi-tasking with a splif and a tin of Tennants Super whilst riding on the pavement round here.
Often see something similar - texting and Tennants. Not forgetting the rest of the six pack hanging on the bars in a carrier bag. Which combo takes most skill though?
I'm actually a bit jealous of their bike skills as I can't manage more than a few seconds without hands on the bars.

Could've held her line a tad better, but seeing as she has just demonstrated talent sufficient to keep from harming herself or others, I don't have a problem with her multitasking. Granted I'd have more respect for her if she could trackstand while LOL about the horrified motorist surveilling her.

How stupid is this ?
How many law abiding cyclists have been crushed in London, then she goes and gives ammunition to the cycle haters, not only that, then goes through a red light across traffic and on to the pavement.Gawd help us.

There no moral high ground to be had here. The texting riders might bring about their own demise but the texting motorists causes the demise of others.

I've yet to see a texting cyclist but I see around a dozen texting motorists every day on my commute.

Wise words indeed.

But in comparison to drivers doing it, it's insignificant! I can't go for a cycle or drive in the car without seeing drivers on their phone, I forget how many I saw yesterday, but it's loads! Tackle the bigger threat first.
