I had/have zero interest in either of these ladies other than purely as aquaintences, and there was never anything more than above. What is it then???? The reactions are totally disproportionate to the 'crime' of my 'non instant' replies.
.
Can I have those two phone numbers please?
Now he tells us! Young Albal could have saved a fortune....not on here, I mean in my 'real' world....
I had one lady I met three years ago....
I had another Lady I met in Cyprus....
I had/have zero interest in either of these ladies other than purely as acquaintances ...
You can't live without a kidney! (For long, without dialysis.)Mobile phones are similar to kidneys. Some folk imagine that you cannot live your life without one;others realise that this is not true.
You can't live without a kidney! (For long, without dialysis.)
Ok, it's true if you mean 'one' in the sense of 'one of two', but that kind of assumes that you have two to start with. A friend of mine had some tests done and they indicated a kidney problem so he had some more tests and scans. The doctor told him to prepare for some bad news, and some really bad news ...
He asked for the bad news first, which turned out to be that he had a failing kidney. The really bad news was that he only had one kidney!!! The doctors said that the other one had never formed properly. (His life was saved by transplant of a kidney from his dad.)
To be fair, most people do start off with two!yes I did pre-suppose the presence of both
I watched my niece embrace a long-time-no-see friend at a family gathering. They giggled and chatted for about a minute and then spent the next 30 minutes texting/tweeting/facebooking their other friends, telling them how great it was to meet up with each other again! Some people just cannot live without technology and it is scary. We have been in cafes, restaurants and couples are sat opposite each other texting away in complete silence, what is so important that you can't put your phone down for 5 minutes to talk to your partner?
What happened back then if your Pony refused to move Postie ??Good grief it is a good job they didn't send a letter, like wot we did decades ago.Postage 60p,it had better be first class, and wot wiv first class not gauranteed next day delivery, you would be lined up against a wall and shot,Poor old BB.
It is pretty scary to think that there are people texting when driving on motorways, mid-sex, in important meetings, during dental surgery etc. because being prepared to do so is the only way to be able to guarantee to reply in less than an hour. And what about when you can't get a signal?
Anybody who gets irate about a delay in communications clearly has anger management and narcissistic personality problems, not to mention a total lack of understanding about how other people live!
Call me old-fashionedbut I always thought that a phone call was an invitation to answer the phone, not a demand for an instantaneous response. So I agree with what you say about anger management and lack of empathy for other people.
At work, yes, you would try to respond very quickly. At home, or with a mobile, I might be involved in doing something and not wish to be interrupted. If I am talking to someone and their phone rings, I expect them to say to the caller that they will call back later.
