Why can't I attach files?

It's only started happening today but, I press attach file to add a photo to my post, the box turns blue as if something'happening, but it doesn't go any further.

I've had a mooch in my profile settings to see if anything is disabled but can't find anything.

The three dots at the top, assuming you're using a tablet/phone. Settings, from there go to site settings and scroll to Content. You'll see if javascript is active there

This won't help but your not alone. I can post photos at present but I do get the same problem you describe from time to time.

To date I've ignored it and at some point it starts working again. That's all I can offer.

Are you using the 'insert image' button ?

You should be clicking on the icon in the centre at the top of the edit box. There is a little graphic in it showing the sun (or moon!) over a hillside. If you clicked the [] over to the right instead that turns blue and stops the other buttons working by changing the mode of the editor. The edit box then looks like this...

I wonder if that is what you did? If so click [] again to change back to the correct mode then click the sun/hill icon to post a picture.

Java is on.

What I usually do when I want to post a photo is press the attach files button below the dialogue box, this then lets me open my phone gallery and pick a photo, I then press the insert box that's overlaying the photo to insert it either as a full image or smaller attachment style.

At the moment when I press the attach files button nothing happens.

If I copy a photo in my gallery and then open the hill box that Colin mentions above there's no way for me to paste it there.

It's specific to my phone as I've just tried with an android tablet, and the method above works on that.

Your way works for me (above), but I usually just find the image I want then ctrl-c, ctrl-v.
