any ideas?

only my big toes - they went a little numb after 5 miles.

same shoes, same tension in my pedals, same socks, didn't tighten my shoes any more than usual - odd.

i did do 19 miles on the cross trainer last night though, would this have affected my technique so much as to cause this?

hopefully my toes won't fall off on the way home from work

I sometimes find that my left toe will hurt after a ride because I used it to support myself when stopping, i.e. not getting out of the saddle..... just ocassionally.

cheers klaus -

jo, no it doesn't help but i'm interested to know why you had your toe on the oven this morning and why you felt the need to split your toe nail on it?

Erm, would you believe me if I said extreme yoga?

It's now my #4 reason to not do the washing up ...

A load of water bounced out of the washing up bowl, so I got a cloth and mopped it up with my (bare) foot ... and then thought I might as well "clean" the floor while I was at it. Was a bit too enthusiastic by the cooker, got my foot wedged underneath it and the rim / skirt thing neatly sliced through the nail and into my toe.

Walking is a bit painful but cycling is fine
