Congrats K, looks like a nice bike. Of course if we cross while I'm on my road bike, the roadie code prohibits me from acknowledging your existence.

+ for the clipless. I actually feel less safe and secure on platform pedals. I set the tension loose for commuting so your foot will come out with a sharp tug in any direction.

If you're not sure about clipless, I've a pair of those pedals that are platforms on one side and SPD mechanism on the other that you're welcome to borrow for a trial. You'll have to cough for the SPD shoes, but you can always use these sans cleats if you don't get on.
