Presumably some sort of differentiation is needed between a MOTORbike, and the pedal type mostly used by members of this site. In motorbike circles, a "bike" can only mean one with an engine.
As one of the many members on here who rides BOTH, things can get a bit confusing; so yes - if in mixed company I will sometimes refer to a pedal bike as a push-bike, just to avoid confusion.
