I hate when people break plans at the last minute, especially without good reason - and even more so when there are children invovled.

Part of the reason I now go solo when I wanna do something - be it tours/gigs/cinema/skiing......whatever.

I invite people and they make all the positive noises, then back down.

Now I do what I want when I want, and laugh when they say they wish they'd done it.

Too late suckers.....life's too short to regret not doing something.

Hard to comment without know the specific of the arrangements / agreements in question. Could range from meeting for a pint after work to the offer of a job being subsequently withdrawn. One having more repercussions than the other.

Maybe having had some time to give the agreement further thought, they simply changed their mind.

When it comes to business never celebrate until the ink is on the contract.

For people that break agreements there is usually a payback eventually.

The person that stands you up for the pint after work without good reason will simply not be invited next time.

The company that withdraws the job offer should remember that as that person is in their line of business, at some point that person will be looking to do business with that company or their rival, if the company had proved to be unreliable then the payback ensues

In my business (Maritime) everyone knows rule number one: "Never insult anyone, he may be your next boss"
