It's not about running away, but rather not worth spoiling your day or mood for things that are not really important.. Most times, I have better things to do than arguing, especially since hardly ever there's any result in the end.. only bitterness and often hurt.
No point really! ;)
Yes there is.

Sometimes though, it becomes apparent that you are arguing with a total idiot, and trying to reason with idiots is a genuine waste of time.

Ooohh, get you!

The problem I have are people who will say or do something against you, but then can't even face up to what they have just done (my big Sister is a grand master of that. If only murder was legal and all that...).

What makes you think you are so special to think you can just walk away without any consequences?

Sorry, but don't just walk away from me until you have explained yourself!

Start a sentence with 'Basically...' then proceed to give to a full convoluted and in-depth answer, when 'basically' only needs to be followed by yes or no

Get surprised that the Supermarket expects to get some money for the products they've just loaded into their trolley. "Oh yes, my purse, its in my bag I think, let me start looking for it now"
And why is it that the same people have not figured out that an upright bottle will probably fall over once the conveyor belt stops, and if they have reached that heady stage of realisation, they still lay their bottles sideways on so that the bottles roll up and down the belt?

Not necessarily...I could be arguing in my spare time.

I don't believe you.

Why do people in the bridge club complain about being cold, fully dressed, when the room temperature is 23C yet are perfectly happy to wander about outside in summer in light loose clothing when the air temperature is around 20C?

This:
Heat radiation occurs in any transparent medium (solid or fluid) but may also even occur across vacuum (as when the Sun heats the Earth). Radiation is the transfer of energy through space by means of electromagnetic waves in much the same way as electromagnetic light waves transfer light. The same laws that govern the transfer of light govern the radiant transfer of heat.

SO, although women may appear to look radiant in summer in light loose clothing they are actually more radiant fully dressed in the bridge club. As hard to believe as this may be.

...why, when workmen have to start working early in a residential area slam their van doors and have the radios up loud, but by 8.30 they turn their internal volume (and radio, usually on radio 1) down?

In my experience it's usually some commercial local station. Why DO people listen to commercial local radio stations?

... never go to church though out the entire year, but insist on cramming the place out on Christmas Eve. Either you're a Christian or you're not. If you are, then do it properly and go regularly, if not then don't be a hypocrite.
