Edit: my OH has just reminded me of an example of that tact.
baby sitting young brother and sister, both still at primary school, me at uni on post grad degree. fed up of them constantly watching TV and refusing to go to bed, or just getting back up again after me putting them to bed and having issued several ultimatums & pushed beyond my normal tolerant self ( ) I apparently yelled something along the lines of "that's it" stormed off to the kitchen and got a pair of scissors, put them in my pocket and went back to their bedroom, issued one more warning, got nowhere so turned the TV off, unplugged it and cut the plug off the TV.

Result was 2 kids who went to bed in stunned disbelief and who now believe me when I threated anything...

Why do people even have meetings .... i have attended lots of them,usually instigated by managers,who think it a good idea to have an engineer present
..... to date,not one resulted in a definite action plan, it is usually a catalyst for planning THE NEXT BLOODY MEETING
