Why do they make applying for jobs so complicated?!

I couldn't apply to such a place but i wouldn't mind filling out he form and then telling them at the interview that i don't want the job because I'm trying to get away from bureaucracy in the first place.

NHS England jobsite is pretty good and stores your previous applications and information to make applying for subsequent jobs easier.

Contrast that to NHS Scotland and it's hit and miss when they want an online application or one via a form posted to them. You then have variations in how they communicate back with you email/snail mail.

I was applying for jobs recently (well one to be precise) in NHS Scotland and decided to fill out all the answers to the online questions in MS Word then copy and paste on the site. That way I had my own record of what I wrote and could use that again for any subsequent applications I may have had to make.

When I'm looking for work I look in shop Windows to see if they're advertising for staff. I saw a notice saying job available but when I moved nearer to read the smaller print I found it was on an automatic door which disappeared behind a shaded window. I tried standing as near as possible but it was faint and it was a busy shop so the door was constantly closing then opening straight away. I was going to ask inside but then thought I would actually have to work with the person who put the notice there so didn't bother. I pass regularly and the notice is still there.
As a slight aside this reminded me of an incident with a company I used to work for that used to love to sack people. One lad that was working there got the boot for stapling the POS to the bottom of the plastic pond liners.

But I only needed to join one online forum that month.
I'm applying for several jobs each week, it's a mammoth task.
I have to register for the website advertising the job, upload my cv to that and complete their registration details.
Then I have to register with the website that it directs me to and upload my CV, before being directed to another form to complete.
I don't see why, when they have my CV , and a breakdown of it's content I then have to complete a form giving them that exact information for a third time.

I submitted my CV to one company last week who then emailed me asking for my postal address - but it was on my CV, right above the email address they found to email me on!!

Application forms or a CV submittal, not some bizarre competition that requires the information in triplicate.
Never had a problem myself, It probably recognizes from your upload that you are female with kids and it is a subtle form of discrimination to stop you taking the application further.
