I'm not sure that is the answer. It tends only to happen when I start back after a break. I can feel it even after the first ride (about 11 miles) and gets worse over the next few days. Usually it starts to settle after that, and then, if I keep riding regularly I have no problems.

I had that a few weeks ago, i was off the bike for a 9 days and as soon as i done a few miles it was sore as you described, and it only got worse for the next few days.
Note i've never had this issue before and have done many 60mile rides without an issue so why should 15 to work be any different.

Anyway i resorted to some cream, and it worked a treat

Check what soap or detergent is being used to wash your shorts. Biological powders can leave a potentially nasty residue. I only ever use non-bio to wash my kit.

Generous use of Sudocream both on you and your shorts before a ride is a good bet. It does wash out OK.

Seriously check the suitability of your saddle.

Reiver, your assuming I have muscle tone to start with! :ohmy::smile:

Saddle Bum, I use wool type detergent, i.e. gentle stuff, as I know bio can harm the lycra, so I doubt it is that. It does feel like it is a friction issue, but I just find it strange that it starts then goes. I'm not feeling as sore today after todays ride, so it is already getting better. :wacko:

Aperitif, :rolleyes::biggrin:

I think these sore bits are just down to you being a great big wimpy wuss and not hard like the rest of us - get on with it man. Either that or you're just a funny shape.

I'm certainly getting grief from my seat, but not when I don't ride, when I do ride.

It gets me on the bit right between your legs, the bit that hits the cross bar if you fall off right after your cherries stop providing cushioning :cry:

New saddle is winging its way to me as we type, a 2nd hand brooks, hopefully a little broken in already. Can't be any less comfortable than this plank I'm using.
