Visiting CycleChat often brings out a number of facial expressions:
  • Rippled forehead from the brain effort that some of the P&L stuff creates
  • Raised eyebrows of disbelief from the same P&L fodder
  • Big daft grins from some of the mad-cap stuff posted in the cafe (loving the 3 word game  )
  • Open-mouthed jaw drops at some of the scrapes in commuting
  • Genuine laugh-out-loud moments (and reassurance that people can be as daft as I am at times)
  • ... and a happy glow at knowing there are some good people out there
It's not like I know people from the forums as friends, per say, but this is a great little corner of the web where it's safe, friendly, and you can have a good laugh without worrying too much about how people will "take" it. It's easy going, and fun, and has a real sense of community.

It seems there is also a good bit of off-line getting together too, which is great; although I haven't really managed much of that myself, but it's lovely that people are open and willing to accept others along for the ride ... if you know what I mean.

Keep up the good work everyone. It's a great site, long may it continue.

All the above (apart from P&L) plus it is currently helping me delay the production of a disaster recovery plan for an unrecoverable system and the production of an options analysis paper intended to pour cold water on a daft idea someone with the ear of senior management has come up with.

Wow Touche, that's not a job... sounds more like a United Nations special envoy operation working undercover with M15!

Love Cycle Chat.... but still confused with P+L whether people actually hate each other!

P+L is just the same couple of dozen people saying the same things on the same subjects, getting ruder and ruder until someone flounces off and begins another topic; then it all starts again. Many of them claim to be working - how do they find the time?

It's strangely hypnotic, but don't go confusing it with reality.

Everything Krypton said, plus I occasionally glean the odd bit of information about cycling.

That's probably the single most important reason why I hang about here. I've lost count of how many CycleChatters that I've ridden with now, but I reckon it is at least 40 and they have all been fine people.

Just watch, some real t**t will now come along on one of my forum rides and make my life a misery... ;)

I hardly visit these days because I'm so flippin' busy. I occasionally look at T&E but generally I'm way to occupied to think of an opinion to express. It's nothing personal!

However I find it freaky when an old thread resurfaces and posts I made 3 years ago are in full public view. It's like they were made by another person, and is more than a bit cringeworthy. It makes you realise that things you post on the internet never go away. It's a bit offputting...

I have found it a habit to check what is happening in CC. I think I am posting less as I am less comfortable with some of the more strident views from some on here. If I am honest, I think I will block viewing P&L as I find it upsets me. So much vitriol over nothing and from an inner clique who clearly enjoy just arguing in circles.
