Nothing wrong with bio-chemical weapons if handled safely.
What sporting activity would you use them for? Anything can be dangerous in the wrong hands, cars, kitchen knives.

Nonsense. My shotguns aren't made for killing people. Nor are my rifles or air-rifles. You can't say all knives are made for stabbing people, can you ?

A lot of pistols are made for defensive purposes, however. The idiot American in the original post is a fool who disobeyed the first rule of safe gun handling.

I think you should look at the history of the gun and find out what its original intended purpose was... here's a clue, it wasn't for hunting.

That may be so, but quite why that means that other modern guns are a "problem" is puzzling... it seems a bit like saying that engines weren't originally intended for powering wheeled transport.

There are numerous ways to kill someone but a gun is the easiest, if they are restricted in a way that makes them hard to get this will help reduce gun deaths . It won't stop a person intent on murder finding another way but greasing the stairs takes a bit more planning.

I think there is very little reason why people should have rifles at home. They should be kept at the local range under lock and key. Shotguns are a different issue if you live out in the country but if you only shoot clays then they should be kept at the range too. Pistols are ugly things and unless your in the military there is very little reason to have one as they are so bloody poor to shoot well.

I really used to enjoy shooting down the range and hunting when I had the chance but did NOT like having my rifle at home.
