Why is it always the other one?

Two screwdrivers, blades down, in outside pocket of tool carrier. Identical black/red striped handles. If I need the cross-head, the first one I pull out is the flat. If I need the flat, the first one I pull out is the cross-head. EVERY TIME! Aaaaaargh!

I've often pondered this.
Statistically, there's obviously a 50% chance of getting the right one.
In reality, it's 0%.

I wonder if, in a parallel universe, the other me is posting about his good fortune in always selecting the right screwdriver?

Is this on a bike?
If so, why the need for carrying screwdrivers?
If not, why are you not getting a man in to do your manual labour tasks?

Actually the bloke who invented the USB died and was buried last week. They lowered his coffin into the ground, lifted it out, turned it over, tried again then realised they'd got it right the first time.

I don't see the problem here, if you really have been pulling out the wrong one every time, then just pull out the other one in future.
It's when you find you've pulled out the wrong one every second time or thereabouts that the problem is more difficult to resolve.
Or, you could just paint the cross head red, Red Cross, gettit?
