I don't know what we do wrong when it comes to cutting our grass but everyone else's always seems to look better - not necessarily greener, but definitely neater.
I've been out today to attack the weeds on the grass verge around our house that we have to look after despite not having had anything to do with planting the awful bushes that are there. And it doesn't look any better since I finished, but everyone else's looks lovely.
How can I be weeding wrong?
Are flymo type mowers the way forward? Ours is a pushalong thing because I'm convinced I'll cut the power cord and electrocute myself.
I can dig over a patch and plant veg no bother, but this domestic gardening malarky is testing me.

A cylinder mower (the more blades the better) is the bee's knees, depends on the quality of your turf.
regular feeding etc will help greatly.
Easy to google..
me?
I use a rotary for my postage stamps:laugh:
I used to do amenity maintenance for a living (council grass cutter:laugh:)

We have six dogs, so no hope of ever having a lawn.
I do have a great giggle whenever a section gets fenced and seeded. Lasts a matter of days after the fencing is removed.

Every morning I get up at 6, go down and feed the cats then while they're eating I nip out and pee on my lawn. It's my lawn and it gives me a chance to sniff the air and assess the chances of a ride. The lawn is very green in patches.

It takes about 6 hours a week to keep our garden looking tidy, miss a week and it takes a lot more the following week.
