Why is this wheel not in the centre of the forks?

Just noticed, the front wheel of my (v.v. cheap) SS is offset to the right by quite a lot! (it runs true). I am not talking a few millimetres; it's probably a full tyre width out.

What's up wi' it and how do I mend it?

thanks

Someone has thoughtfully provided you with a sort of dished wheel - not centred in the middle.

It's a reasonably easy LBS job to fix if they have used the same length spokes on both sides.

Oh, I see.

Thanks!

Is it a big job? I mean time wise? The whole bike was only £100 new so if it's going to be costly I might have a rethink.

quite possible that the dropouts are mis-aligned then. Unlikely to be the wheel.
Put the wheel in the other way round. If the wheel is to blame, the wheel will then be too far the other way. If the problem stays the way it is now then the wheel isn't to blame!

PS Curses - out-typed again!

Lean more to the right.

I swapped the wheel for another identical one and it's offset in the same way, so it's the forks (?)

might be something as simple as excessive paint inside one of the dropouts, or it could actually be misaligned. If it's the paint, you can remove it with a round file...
