1st incident: This morning on my commute I came to a set of traffic lights where a road crosses a dual carriageway. Sat waiting infront of cars when a cyclist comes down the outside and parks his bike in front of mine. Now I could understand it if he would set off at pace, but no!! He sets off and I have to overtake him about 10 metres after the junction. I know he definitely saw me as he looked beforepulling infront. What was the point?

2nd incident: About to pull into a side road just before work and I notice an oncoming car coming to same junction and indicating right. I put my arm out left and start to go round corner but he decides he is going to go a little faster and cut in front of me . The he turns into our works car park and has to stop for barrier and I go between bollards and round him. Again, what was the point in cutting me up?!?

The first incident - were you on a smart (or smart-ish) bike and he wasn't? Just thinking if he was in the mindset of "grrr, someone with a nice bike, grrrr, I'll annoy him now . . ." perhaps.

Second incident - yeah, quite common this one I find. There will always be the odd one unfortunately who will be determined to pip you to the post. Quite possible said driver might have attempted the same thing even if you were in a car. Interestingly I find if I wear my reflective yellow jacket I get a lot more courtesy than when I am just in a jersey.

I had a left turning lorry/cyclist incident this morning.

Me pulled up behind skip lorry. Cyclist then goes up inside of indicating lorry as lights turn green....

I catch up with him 'that lorry was indicating left'....."yeh I know, I was past it"...... 'well if you want to get taken off' I said.......

There are also railings there too.....

He looked like a 'regular cyclist', but he's obviously the sort that may just get caught out at some point.

1. Happens to me all the time and makes me so cross. If someone's faster than me I tend to hang back and let them get off first so why no one can do that for me I don't know. Grrrrrr.

2. Some drivers are just oblivious to everyone and a lot of them seem completely unable to judge how fast bikes are going accurately.

First incident happens from time to time, just get past them and eyeball them as you do then disappear into the distance and forget it.

Second incident there's no point being concerned or polite. I've found that doesn't work. Just say to them if you get the chance "Next time you do that (you can add "muppet" for emphasis) you might get flattened/quashed with any luck then how will your mum/dad/girlfriend/boyfriend/son/daughter/dog feel?" If not just forget it and hope you don't witness some one being flattened.
