I confess we used our neighbour's wifi for the duration of our residency in Cardiff...

Once when we moved our internet provider said we had to have a new account and router, etc as we couldn't reinstate the old one, I tried the old one anyway as I couldn't be arsed setting it all up again, it worked and as they'd shut down the account from the previous address and I didn't activate the new account we got free broadband - smert as they say in Cardiff!!

We didn't rob it off our naybs though, very naughty.

well, I mustn't admit to this but let's say a "friend" *cough* I know used to log into to a network that was not password protected - eventually the owner twigged and renamed the network to "not_anymore_you_dont" - how I laughed when my "friend" told me this,.

No idea you could name your wifi, how do you change it then geeks?
The instructions should be on the side of your hub along with the default username and default password, no doubt the engineer who installed it has been happy logging on to your wifi and downloading porn

BT seem to have a lot of business round here! I am on TalkTalk, but 6 of the other 7 networks that I am picking up are on BT. Number 7 might also be but they have renamed it 'Horse1' so I can't tell.

There's been some pretty amusing ones posted on various sites, I think my favourite was "Pretty fly for a WiFi" and the police surviellance ones  I recall someone on Reddit claiming they'd got police watching them after they changed theirs to "marijuana grow house 2" and got reported by a neighbour.
Or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1... or more simply, the majority of Routers support http://routerlogin.net

Take a pick

Passwords if you haven't changed them are usually:
Username: Admin
Password: Password / Admin
Just to add, BT homehubs are usually 192.168.1.254 default admin password is "admin" iirc.

If you do change your wifi name, youll have to go round changing some of your wifi devices too as theyll see it as a different network.
