Hi I have quite wide plates of meat, and as such find most cycling shoes excruciating to wear.
currently got specialized BG mtb shoes are there any other manufacturers which are known to be wider fitting, Time and Sidi are a non starter they have quite narrow lasts is that the correct terminology?

so to narrow it down, excuse the pun, which manufacturers should i be looking at, thanks in advance.

My parents place is in Bradford Peverell, other side of Dorchester from you. Nice part of the world, don't get down there often enough really. I used to be into Mountain Biking when I last lived there (more than fifteen years ago now! ;)) but used to spend a lot of time riding in the woods at Higher Bockhampton.

Have only got the standard five toes on each foot thankfully so have not got much experience with wide shoes. ;) I would suggest getting yourself down to a quality bike shop, try Primera in Bournemouth which is pretty big or there is one in Dorchester in Great Western Street, just called Dorchester Cycles. Try some on, it's the only way to know for sure.

When I was buying ladies shoes for my wide feet, I was told Shimano wouldn't work but to try Specialized which luckily for me did.

Check a few sites out - Sidi are generally very narrow, but now do wide, but how wide they are. Spech as you know are a wider fitting, try Northwave, Diadora - best bet is get down to a shop - shoes are one thing that needs a LBS unless you are buying another shoes from the same manufacturer that you already have.

Sidi actually do a wide versions of the road & mtb model shoes called MAX...I think...
I have the same problem as the OP.

Can you actually get Mega Sidi shoes in the UK? I had a look at a couple of suppliers and they only seem to sell them in one width. In seems much more common in the US to have shoes in a range of widths.
