walked into a pub in Whitchurch HAnts, with cycle kit on Friday, and got the comment "are you lost, London is that way"!

But surely this is a sign that cycling is not mainstream, we are still a bit odd, and associated with last cyclist they saw, in this case on the telly

To be fair, Box Hill is usually crawling with cyclists most weekends.

Sounds like the lanes of Cheshire. Im all for cyclist cycling though the amount of lycra in some parts can get tiresome sometimes, especially on Sundays.

Hit the hills or venture further out of the city and no ones about

It seems like you ignored them when he was shouting "Bradley". And you said a frustrated "Soz" when you went.
I might be wrong but that is my perspective on what happened.
It was sup. as in wassup, as in hi.
I don't really have much interest in striking a conversation with a pedestrian when i'm at the front of the traffic and the lights are about to change.

Did you steal your bike from wiggo
No, he bought it off ebay.

Disappointingly, I've had nothing. But there was a family on the Cyclone standing outside their house shouting 'Allez! Allez! Allez!' at all the riders, which I thought was wonderful.

MR 6 and I got our first "go team GB" the other day (probably the last too!)
I so wish I could cycle no-handed so I could do the over-the-finish-line punch the air thing, but I'd fall off.

Yesterday two cyclists move over to let me through on a bike path saying "Wiggo on the right", obviously an easy mistake to make as he looks exactly like a sturdy 40 something woman  They had just come out of a pub though.

And today someone shouted that I was faster than Wiggins.
