For me, it's time and the weather which influence and to some extent how my joints feel

If you're not working and it's not raining and you're not ill, you have no excuses, get your lazy 'arris out there...why not go to a bike shop and testride some roadbikes ;)

Realise what you have been doing all morning has been a complete waste of time. Get your gear on and get out.

I am waiting for work to finish at 1.30pm and I will get home and go on a 30 miler. I cant wait.

I get my kit fully ready before bed - that way I find it harder to ignore it in the morning when I could be tempted. I also set my alarm on the other side of the room so I have to get up. This morning I was out the door at 6am for a 1.5 mile commute that I stretched to 33 miles.

I know how you feel - I have been a bit demotivated recently - crap weather, other stuff going on, niggling injuries, they all seem to provide an excuse not to ride.
But today -
The sun is shining, not much wind .... get out there ! You know its worth it ... I'm counting down the hours until this evening when I can take my daughter out for her first proper long ride on her road bike.

Sometimes I have to force myself to actually get out as early as I know I need to be out, in order to get a particular ride completed and still have some day left. However, I always see sense after a few miles, and then it's business as usual.

Well folks thanks for the push to get on the bike very glad I did . Just home after a 27mile cycle . Great day for it tho on the return home was a bit of a push as it was a near head on wind by the sea. 2hours it took me tho not bad for only having the bike 6 weeks

Had one today.
Arranged to meet someone at my house...........12.00 midday.
At 11.00 I got a text...........he's running late............make it 13.00 (not his fault as he was waiting in for an important delivery timed between 10.00 & 12.00.
It came reaaaally late.
Later..........can we make it 14.00
Later........can we make it 15.00..........at which point I said "no-I really need to go before I lose the will".
Managed a 20.

I get that occasionally, looking forward to the ride the day before but in the morning I can't make myself go out. Often it means I've packed too much cycling into the previous weeks and my bodies telling me I need a break. Sometimes its just because my moods low and I need a little time to sort it out, its a bit of a paradox because one thing that is going to improve my mood is cycling but I can't force myself out.

One of the main reasons I commute to work. Get up at 5, leave just before 6 and easy 15 miles down to work. Run home is a bit tougher though, but it's not like you are going to back out at that point no matter how much you think your legs stiffened throughout the day.

I did the bike commute for over 30 years, I'm retired now.
