My sort of "guess" would be Mountain Cornflower (Centaurea Montana Alba). I cannot find a suitable picture to copy and paste.

I say "guess" but I have something similar, but purple, in my garden.

A favourite of mine, but I normally see it in wet ditches, not stunning locations like this. Meadowsweet. Steep in vodka like you would sloe gin, for an aromatic liqueur.

I call it wild astilbe, is that the same as meadowsweet? I think it smells of abusers, by which I mean aniseed, but the spell checker threw that out.

I should've got that one. Thought the leaves were familiar. I don't see it in such wild profusion though as pictured.

Boring fact: It's called mjødurt in Norwegian. Obv. translates to Mead Wort.

Maybe there's been a corruption in the name over time as you don't find Meadowsweet growing in meadows (unless it's a wet meadow).

It’s a cracking drink if you make wine as per elderflower method. Meadowsweet fizz.
I was told by a fellow who knows such things that the root cures a headache.
