Their inner tubes are utter crap, go to halfords

Their locks would last about 10 seconds looking at them

I have a ball spanner, works ok on my single speed

A couple of items. I've got one of their rain capes which I quite like if I'm likely to get caught out in showery weather as it is light and doesn't take up much space. It doesn't have the thumb loops, but these can be improvised if you want them.

I've also tried their V-brake blocks and wouldn't get those again. Very unimpressed with their performance and they wore out in no time.

The degreaser wasnt too bad.Mind you, given the price of a can(around £2.50 I think)I was inclined to be rather free with it,that and the fact that I tend to keep on top of cleaning the bike meant that the result was quite acceptable.Having latterly used Fenwicks products,I dont think they were signiicantly better overall(especially that b****y awful foam degreaser)so I d give the Wilko kit another try at least.

I've heard bad things about the tubes, most of the tools feel like they're made of cheese, the bells are loud but have a plastic axle that snaps or comes loose on our rough roads and then you can't fix it.

On the flip side, the self adhesive patches work, the bottle cages seem OK, they sell large 900ml bottles and the BMX brake blocks are so soft that they work OK on steel rims at a push. The chains are TAYA which are usually OK (open the box to check) but I've not bought one.

Why bother with the tyres, oils or cleaners? The base products of known brands aren't much dearer.

I use their gear and brake cables and never had any issues.
Tubes i use as a get me home solution.
Wouldnt touch the tyres with a 10ft barge pole same with their chains.
Bottle cages and bottles are pretty good. Use their puncture kits.
tools are made of cheese and lights are again, only good as a get me home solution.
The pumps and locks are also utter rubbish.

I got Schwalbe City Jets at a good price. Half of what they were advertised for elsewhere
Must have been a sale. They're normally £15 in Wilko (larger branches only - our local only has unbranded junk tyres). RRP is £16. Spa Cycles often sell them for £10.

Being a bit of a tightwad and running two bikes on a limited budget, Wilko's is where I go for replacement parts like tyres, lights, brake pads and inner tubes etc. The tubes may need regular topping up with my Wilko pump and the Pno Grip tyres make riding in the wet an exciting experience, but they do the job well enough for me. After all, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't recommend the stabilisers though; they always buckle when I fall over.

Gear and brake cables are fine. The back light i got from Wilkos is cracking, so i bought another. I have a Wilko track pump with is fine for the £7 i paid for it, and a frame pump which is also OK (I've had a couple of terrible frame pumps from there in the past though). Not had any issues with their tubes, not that i buy many.
