Sad news indeedy. Not only a truly great guitarist, but also very good as a fearsome executioner in Game of Thrones

I have always liked his style since seeing him in Cambridge in 1976 with Dr Feelgood

Sadly some folk are profiteering from Wilko's illness. His farewell tour has sold out and tickets are being sold in the secondary market at grossly inflated prices.

I am so pleased to have had the pleasure of working with him the past few years, not only on the Oil City Confidential movie, but also his last couple of albums, his up coming album and his last tour. A great man. A friendly man. A funny man. A legend.

I take my hat off to you sir... a fine fine movie indeed.

buy it... download it... steal it from HMV... whatever you do, WATCH IT!

Thanks to whoever posted the 1975 OGWT link - that would have been my first introduction to the band and I haven't seen that since 1975. I remember in those pre-punk days that their back to basics sound blew us all away. Still does. That was in the days of vinyl, but now the band are still regularly played on my ipod. I suppose they are important to a certain generation - a whole raft of younger types will have no idea who the hell we are talking about, and might not understand why one-off, unique bands like Dr Feelgood and Wilko matter so much. Sad to see him on the way out and uplifting to hear him talk about his illness so candidly.

Yep, read this on FB last night from a mate and fan of the guy.

I don't know much about the guy other than his involvement with the Blockheads but I sincerely hope he goes without suffering. I lost my mother to Pancreatic cancer last year.

It is a bit sickening to hear of all the shysters that profit off real music fans who have been following artists and bands from the beginning.
I will be content in the thought that I have seen Wilko several times over the last 40 years.
It would be nice to think, but of course totally unrealistic in this 'grab what you can climate', that those that are profiteering from this situation gave their ill gotten gains to Cancer Research or McMillan in memory of a musical giant.
Yeah, dream on!!!
