Posted here as it is more a query about taste than technical.

I have fitted flat bars to my road bike complete with bar ends, MTB shifters and brake levers. I have to say seeing my Ribble with this on the front is quite pain inducing.

I'm considering purchasing Aero bars (with out the extensions) with Aero brake levers.

Query is, as I'm not a time trialler, will I look like a complete bell*nd with this on the bike?

NB. original reason for flat bars is I have an old neck/shoulder injury that doesn't cope well with drop bars.

I'd say you should do what works for you. Anyone who disagrees is the knob (no offense to those on here).

At least you will be cycling while they are still looking in the mirror/shop window.

To the OP, don't bother with handle bars at all, get fixxy and ride no handed.
