2 bikes is literally all I will ever need, got my best weather racer and my worst weather racer.

Just need to get a classic steel framed racer and I'm all set.
Just the two then..........

First chance to catch up with the replies , it certainly does look like I am doomed.
Held off today though,Visited one of my local bike shops this afternoon (Dr Cranks @ Whitby) he has started to stock Forme bikes and has a new Forme Longcliffe 1 hung in the window , it looks fantastic.
We visit Whitby a couple of times a month and I always pop in to see Dr Crank ,my options are
(a) Do not go to Whitby (not really an option the young one loves going )
(b) Do not go into DR Cranks (hard, very hard)
(c) Go in but under no circumstances ask him to set up a test ride
(d) Buy it
This is going to be a long winter.

A bike for each type of cycling you do makes perfect sense, anyone can understand that. Then it's just down to you to define how many types of cycling you do.
Rides less than ten miles
Rides between ten and twenty miles
Rides mostly uphill
Rides on the flat
Rides in the rain
Rides with your mates
Rides on your own
......
rides to the divorce courts

OTOH if you think that a better bike will make you a better rider or that you'll enjoy cycling more you're likely to be disappointed after a short while, which will probably lead to you wanting a new bike. There's worst things to do than spend your time lusting after and buying new bikes, there's also far better things like riding them.

my name is Defy and i am a cycling hussy....

then i bought another.....
then i sold two mountain bikes....
then i bought a hybrid.....
my name is Defy and i have a habit....

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
Is it just me then?

I have a good mountain bike from the 90's and still wouldn't dream of replacing it (although a heavy re-vamp wouldn't go amiss)
I bought a good hybrid 2 years ago and can't see wanting to replace it unless it breaks badly.
I bought a decent(£900) Ali road bike in summer 2011 and can't imagine wanting or needing anything 'better'.

I could easily (apart from Mrs Skol's objections) spend £2k+ on a bike but even though I have an occasional look I don't get any urges to do so. Bike lust doesn't have to be an all consuming passion!

I'd seek professional help if I were you. If you like I could let you have a ride on mine, a sort of carbon-shock therapy, we'll have you reaching for the wallet in no time ;)

Credit cards are the worst. Especially when there is 10% off everything over £99 at Wiggle just now. That set of tubular carbon rims at £1000 seem much more appealing when i get £100 off them. My bank even sent me a letter recently doubling my credit card limit. Erm trying to tell me something guys??

So, same price as everywhere else now.
